Surf and Turf Recipe (Steak and Shrimp with Creamy Sauce)
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
For the Shrimp:
12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Creamy Sauce:
1 tbsp butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Steak:
Rub the steaks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Let them sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
2. Cook the Steak:
Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (or adjust to your preferred doneness). Remove from heat and let rest.
3. Cook the Shrimp:
In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
In the same skillet, cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
4. Prepare the Creamy Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Dijon mustard, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
5. Assemble the Dish:
Place the steak on a plate, drizzle with the creamy sauce, and top with the cooked shrimp. Garnish with fresh parsley.
6. Serve:
Serve hot with a side of mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
