Sloppy Joe Sandwiches
Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, finely chopped (optional)
3/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup water
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 burger buns
Slices of cheese (optional)

Instructions:
1. Cook the Beef Mixture:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks.
Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper (if using) and cook until softened.
2. Prepare the Sloppy Joe Sauce:
Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and water.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the mixture simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
3. Assemble the Sandwiches:
Toast the burger buns lightly for added texture (optional).
Place a generous scoop of the sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun.
Add a slice of cheese on top of the meat while it’s hot to let it melt slightly.
Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
