Cheesy Chicken Puff Pastry
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded
½ cup cream cheese, softened
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
3. Assemble the Pastries: Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 6 equal squares. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of each square. Fold the corners over the filling to form a pocket and press gently to seal.
4. Add the Egg Wash: Transfer the pastries to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve warm as a snack or appetizer.
