Old Fashioned Southern Tea Cakes
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
1 ¾ cups sugar
2 eggs
3 cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs, then add vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, adding buttermilk gradually.
Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool before serving.
