Candied Pecans
Ingredients:
2 cups (200g) pecan halves
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
1/4 cup (60ml) water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
Pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine sugar, water, vanilla extract, cinnamon (if using), and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
2. Add pecans to the skillet and stir to coat them evenly in the sugar mixture.
3. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the liquid thickens and crystallizes around the pecans (about 5-7 minutes).
4. Remove from heat and transfer pecans to a sheet of parchment paper. Spread them out to cool completely.
5. Once cooled, break apart any clusters and serve or store in an airtight container.
