This Homemade Electrolyte Drink recipe is my favourite way to stay hydrated in the summer. It’s lower in sugar and budget-friendly!
Ingredients
1.5cupsunsweetened coconut water
1cup100% juice of choicesee variation options below
2tablespoonfresh lime or lemon juiceor to taste(see variation options below)
2tablespoonhoney
⅛teaspoonsea salt
½cupwater
Ice of serving
1cup100% orange juice
1tablespoonlemon juice
1tablespoonlime juice
1cup100% watermelon juice
2tablespoonlemon juice
1cup100% tart cherry juice
2tablespoonlime juice
1cup100% grapefruit juice
2tablespoonlime juice
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the coconut water, fruit juice and citrus of choice.
- Stir in the honey and sea salt until completely dissolved.
- Stir in the water and add the lemon or lime juice, to taste, if desired.
Serve chilled.
Notes
This electrolyte drink will not be as sweet as a traditional gatorade.
